Using the Pantone 2023 Colour Of The Year

Pantone has named their colour of the year for 2023. A bold and exuberant shade of pinkish red called Viva Magenta, or Pantone 18-1750.

The colour and design company has long been a trusted voice in the design space. Their annual selection for colour of the year has influenced trends since 2000.

This is how Pantone describes this year’s choice,

“Viva Magenta is brave and fearless, a pulsating colour whose exuberance promotes a joyous and optimistic celebration”. Further into their highly anticipated announcement, they explain that the colour, “welcomes anyone and everyone with the same verve for life and rebellious spirit. It is a colour that is audacious, full of wit and inclusive of all.”

Colour is an integral part of interior design. It can change how we feel about the space we are in, even making it look smaller or bigger.

However, adding colour to your design can sometimes feel intimidating. There's a lot to consider – what the space is for, how it needs to function and how you want people to feel.

Dr. Stecker at Mountain Vista Psychology explains, “colour plays more of an influential role in our lives than we realise. It can affect our minds, bodies, and overall mood.”

At Maxwood we understand the importance of a high-quality and well-presented washroom. Using our experience, we can help you make colour choices for your washroom that will positively impact your employee’s well-being and performance and leave a lasting impression on both staff and visitors.

Considered Colour Choices

A washroom is, first and foremost, a functional space, but aesthetics elevates it into a contingency of your brand. The Pantone colour of the year Viva Magenta promotes joy and optimism, which is perfect for turning your washroom into an uplifting space.

In this example of our previous work for the Royal College of Pathologists, digitally printed Glass Maxwall WC duct panels units use colour and image to create a fresh, relevant environment using 20 microscopic images.
