Dave Brough, Design Manager at Maxwood Washrooms, and brother Pete recently completed an extraordinary 100-hole gold challenge in memory of their friend, Paul James.

Paul tragically passed away after suffering a heart attack, with his final act of generosity being to donate three of his organs to help save the lives of others. To honour his memory and support the British Heart Foundation, Dave and Pete set out to take on a mighty challenge to raise funds and awareness.
Returning to a place filled with childhood memories, Lutterworth Golf Club, Dave and Pete were ready to begin for their 4am tee-off. With no golf buggies allowed, the brothers pushed through 16 hours of golfing to finish with the final ball at 8pm.

Thanks to their determination, and the generosity of all who donated the challenged has raised an incredible £8,250 for the British Heart Foundation.
Dave and Pete shared:
“As tough as this challenge was, we wanted to provide Paul’s family with some comfort by raising as much money and awareness as possible for a charity that means so much to them. Our thoughts remain with Paul’s family and friends.”

At Maxwood we are extremely grateful to have someone as dedicated and kind as Dave. Both brother’s efforts not only honour Paul’s memory but also contribute to life-saving research and care through the British Heart Foundation.
From all of us at Maxwood to Dave and Pete… Well done, we couldn’t be prouder.
