Growing Greater: Embarking on the Strategy Marketing Programme with UBT!

In early June, the Maxwood Washrooms team ventured to the launch day of the Strategic Marketing Programme (SMP) at the picturesque Primrose Hill Farm in Oxfordshire.


Hosted by the Universal Business Team (UBT) and facilitated by the brilliant Joanne Hallam, the face-to-face event marked the beginning of a 12-month programme, and a lifetime’s (plus some) worth of learning!



From the early morning breakfast to the final wrap up, the day was filled to the brim with insights, challenges, and some exciting opportunities. Valuable connections were made with like-minded businesses and the team are looking forward to growing with Cohort 6.



The cohort was joined by a knowledgeable team of SMP coaches - Rick McMullan, Reuben Mitchell, Murray Smith, Guy Douglass, and Doug Ghinn – who expertly guided us through the activities of the day and will continue to support us throughout the programme.


A few highlights included:


  • Engaging Sessions: From strategy to brand and customer thinking, the sessions helped us assess where we are now and where we want to go.


  • Cohort Collaboration: It was powerful to connect with other businesses at different stages of their marketing journeys. Sharing perspectives and examples made the day even more valuable.


  • A Little Country Charm: In a light-hearted moment, a few curious sheep managed to sneak past the fence to the lawn—perhaps wanting to be part of the discussion! 🐏



As a programme designed for the whole of business, we were encouraged to bring not only our Marketing and Sales leads but also team members from Sales, Operations, and beyond. The goal is to create alignment at every level of leadership, ensuring that marketing becomes a true driver of growth across Maxwood.



This is just the beginning. Over the next 12 months, we’ll be diving into a range of strategic modules and much more. We’re excited to take this journey with UBT and Cohort 6 as we continue to lead in the luxury washrooms space.
